What You'll Need to Get In

To be eligible to study this course, applicants must meet the following entry requirements:

  • Australian Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) Health field, AND
  • Must be working in a role as a registered practitioner with AHPRA with no restrictions to practice [Eligible professions are: Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Practitioner, Chinese Medicine, Chiropractor, Dental Practitioner, Medical Practitioner, Medication Radiation, Occupational Therapist, Optometrist, Osteopath, Paramedic, Pharmacist, Physiotherapist, Podiatrist, Registered Nurse, Registered Midwife], OR
  • Working as a professional where mental health skills are being utilised and membership of a professional association is current [Eligible professions are: Social Work and Counselling], OR
  • Working as a professional where they can demonstrate mental health skills are being utilised [Applicants in these eligible professions MUST be currently working in a role where mental health skills are being regularly applied as a core component of the role – in a health-related field]

Note: Meeting minimum prerequisites does not guarantee an offer of a place. Entry into all La Trobe courses is based on competitive selection and there may be limited places available.

This course can be paid for through the FEE-HELP government loan scheme. If you are an Australian citizen or hold a permanent humanitarian visa, you may not need to pay upfront.
