The course will allow you to choose an elective specialisation that focuses on one of the important aspects of community work such as drug and alcohol recovery, mental health, disability, youth work or case management. The course also involves 100-120 hours of practical work placement which will allow you to gain crucial practical experience required to hit the ground running once you take on a specific role in the industry.

You have a choice of studying this course online (blended with virtual classes), or by correspondence. Please note that both options still involve the practical work experience component.

This course is government funded through the Jobs and Skills WA program, which applies to eligible WA residents.

You do not need to come to class, however, you will need to stay connected with your Educator and attend phone and/or web meetings to complete some of the practical components of your course. eLearning allows you the flexibility of completing your course at your own pace, at times to suit work and other life commitments. You can work on your course at anytime, anywhere supported by your industry experienced educator via telephone and email no matter where you are.
