This course is aimed at people looking to gain knowledge in residential building and construction, and will teach you crucial industry skills such as how to plan building or construction work, how to apply structural principles and legal requirements to residential and commercial constructions, how to arrange building applications and approvals, how to identify and produce estimated costs for building and construction projects and how to use building science principles to construct energy efficient buildings. By the end of the course you will be equipped with all the knowledge you need to start engaging in more senior building roles such as site supervisor or site manager.

The course is flexible with the pace at which you learn, but it’s a good idea to keep a regular study schedule to make sure you’re moving forward steadily. You’ve got to finish the qualification within a set time – anywhere from 6 months to 2 years. This gives you plenty of time to really get into the material and nail the qualification. Most students are expected to wrap up their studies in about 12 months.
